Seminarian Lake Retreat
Held in August when “school is out” for seminarians, all of them assemble in the Ozarks to be together before the next semester of classes. This is a “retreat” from the summer work assignments most seminarians have undertaken, as well as an opportunity to get to know Serra members who serve as volunteers to make the event memorable. The Bishop attends to know “the men” in an informal setting and see them as they interact outside of official business. Mass and prayer start each morning ritual and special events also include being pulled behind a power boat across one of the Ozark Lakes. All meals are prepared by Serra member volunteers and include really popular BBQ and steak – food fit for future priests on their special Retreat!
